Just finished putting in a new 19 mm master cylinder. [The old 17 mm one was shot and leaking.] I heard it was difficult getting the grommets back in, but this was ridiculous. I ended up jerry-rigging two small tools out of an old metal handle and part of a bicycle bottle attachment, and they worked. What were the Porsche engineers thinking when they created a situation with such a tiny space to work in? Or, did I just go about doing this wrong.

QUOTE(Maine914 @ May 11 2003, 06:52 PM) What were the Porsche engineers thinking when they created a situation with such a tiny space to work in? they were thinking you should attach the lines from the reservoir to the master cylinder while it's out of the car, sitting on your bench, and then install the assembly into the car. (i did it the hard way too -- once...) |

I just spent half a day putting a thermostat in my Jetta. What a bitch! It's hidden behind the power steering pump.
