I'm on the fence about whether to post this in the garage or the paddock. Hopefully the admins can sort me out.

Anyhow, wondering if any of the Florida boys know of someone who can build a good solid cage in the Tampa Bay area. I would consider taking it elsewhere if necessary, but definitely still in Florida. I still have a long way to go working out the rest of the bugs in the car, but I'm starting to shop around to get some ideas. Thanks!

George, I don't if you saw the Roll Bar behind the Couch in my Living Room the other day - the rest of the Cage is out in the Garage.

If the ST sells, I'll sell the cage. I've got somebody that can make one, but it might be more $$.

If you buy one from a source (like Stable Energies) the frieght is what will really killya

T.C.,
You could get some good money for that cage and should do so. The major issue too is that I don't believe it would meet tech requirements for Chumpcar. Chumpcar is 8 point, with two rearward-facing supports that go through the window area. So it looks like its going to have to be custom made. Thanks for the offer. Hope you're staying dry up there! St. Pete is soaked to the bone.

What's the name of the people that bought Dave White's? Vortex or something like that. I've heard they do good work.

I have a bolt in cage that i took out of mine for sale, just needs a set of bottom plates. It has the "V" shape design that ties into the firewall. You'd still have to add the rear points to it.

I haven't been in Tampa for a while. I used to love going to White's. I think he used to love seeing me and my wallet. LOL In all honesty, Dave was always good to me and my family.

Kirt Whiteman was always considered one of the best cage builders in the Tampa Bay area. Dave White used him to build all their HSR race car cages and fuel cell installations. Kirk did the cage and cell in my 914-6 racecar. I know he was hired by a race shop up in Atlanta many years ago but last I heard, he was back in Tampa Bay. I found his home phone number in my old Rolodex from back when I was working. It's entirely possible this number is no longer valid for Kirk but it's worth a try. 813-264-4507

Kirt did my cafe in my Olympic Blue car that melted into the Ground. He's still in Atlanta - he's one of my Facebook friends

Dave & his son are still good friends of mine. I can't believe those Idiots that bought Dave out for Big $$$ didn't continue to use his name - that alone lost half the business
