I'm changing the front stusts on my 1.7L 72'. The stuts stay Fichel @ Sachs AG. Are these the stock struts that came on the car?

Boge, Koni, Bilstein AFAIK.

Fichtel & Sachs made big inroads into the suspension replacement components business in the 80's & early 90's ...

Sachs strut inserts and shocks were common on 914s and 911s pretty early on. The factory installed them interchangeably with Boge. Some mid 70s 911s came with British made shocks, too. Seems like they used a number of suppliers and installed whatever they had on hand ............. Alternators, regulators, piston/cylinder sets, bearings of all kinds, brake pads, wiper motors and arms, even chassis suppliers. The Cap'n

I might be wrong, or the merger may have happened recently but I though F&S and Boge were the same company, hence the name Sachs-Boge.
