I've been battling a rotator cuff injury for the past 6 weeks and it's finally getting to where I can finally do a little more with the cars. I decided to pull the rockers on the '76 to see what I was facing. I'm pretty sure neither rocker has been pulled since new.
Imagine my surprise to see solid longs and jack points! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) The west coasters probably won't appreciate it; however, after all the long and hell hole rust in my green car (see the scottyb thread on my car) I am excited to see this on a project car! There is a lot of dirt on them (these pictures are right after pulling the rockers); but, the screwdriver test shows them to be solid. There is still rust in the rear passenger floor and a few spots here and there. Overall, it's less than I expected. Nice score! Had shoulder surgery three years ago. Still not 100%. Takes time.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) My rotator cuff is frayed...limits motion in certain ranges and hurts like hell in others! This car came from Alabama....had a couple pounds of Alabama dirt trapped in those rockers. I was expecting the worst! |

Pw Scotty will still have his work cut out for him: Passenger floorboard is rusted (rear half) Hell hole condition unknown..will check more thoroughly after I drop the engine Rear trunk lid hinge on drivers side has broken Rear trunk lid has a big rust spot A few small areas of rust Normal door dings and dents Compared to the green car his one is rust free! Your 75 is an east coast car, bet the rockers look even better. Are you ready to sell my car back? You have too many! Well...the car I bought from you isn't a project car! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) It was well cared for from the beginning. I'm not ready to sell back your car...I just washed and waxed it this weekend...it's looking good. You may have to wait a while! My oldest son and I went for a 50 mile drive in it Sunday morning. He likes this car the best of all of them. You can never have too many 914's!
