I've just uploaded 6 of the pictures I have of this Green 914 that apparently
was Rolled.
This guy lives here in Modesto, but I've never been able to talk to him, though
I've tried a couple of times.

the pics 'should be' here:
http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/werksracer/lst?...een+914&.view=t

I stopped by the auto body shop where these pics were taken, the car is
gone now. The shop told me he'd rolled it, but was Not hurt too seriously.
They said he was looking for another car to transfer his *goodies* over to.

"Dude, I can fix that, my dad is a TV repairman and has tons of cool tools"

bummer, glad to know that he was okay, and since he is getting another 914, he must not have been spooked too bad by the accident.

Too bad.

I should get you some club stickers... we can slap them on cars and take pictures..no matter where they sit or what condition they are in.. LOL

One day you will see 914's in junkyards with 914club stickers on them.

Me too. I think that's the difference between just rolling one over vs catching air and landing on the roof.

I have a question about wrecked 914's.

Somewhere here on 914world.com, there's a topic,
'Members 914 pics'. Some guy sent a photo of his 914 that had
been in a head-on collision.
I believe he said he'd broken a bunch of diff things, feet, neck or back
whatever. Important thing was that he lived thru it and he's ok now.

He said: the spare tire really saved him.

So my question is:
If a person did Not have the spare, but instead, had one of those
'racing' style gas tanks, would that have provided any help in a head-on
collision?
I wonder about a possible explosion, or fuel being everywhere!

The A pillars did their job because the windows where up... This would have slowed down the A pillars from collasping as fast.

Everyone I have spoken too involved with a head on collision in a 914 says they where sprayed with gas if the top was off during the collision. It squeezes the gas tank. If you had a cell up there and approved one.. then it might not squeeze out.

The link to the green car didn't work for me. Here's one I posted a while back that rolled at Buttonwillow. I guess to a 914 it's the like dying with your boots on. Better to roll than to rust.
