Very nice car. I'm thinking of going red on my 914, what color is that red?

The color of the car you quoted (Steve's M471) is Tangerine L21E I think. This is an old picture - he restored the car to the way it was when it was a camera car.

The painted bumpers look great.

So do the chrome ones.

I got some BUB's that are fine, sometimes I think I should just leave them on. But I also have a set of early ones in very nice shape that I'd like to paint and install. I have to admit, I'm pretty torn at this point.....anyone wanna talk me into/out of the swap?

She's a 76.....

Thanks,

Joe

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) Either set looks good, but I'm partial to the red bumpers with the black wheels.

I went from [banged-up] black to [nice, straight] chrome bumpers (on a black car) and it actually took a while for me to adjust to the change (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

Another vote for chrome on red (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
But the red bumpers did look good too
Mike

The car used to have red rockers and front/rear valances AND a red roof. I thought it was too much with the red bumpers so the rockers/valance got painted black when I got the WAS saratoga top.

OLD Picture:

Mike, Can you share some details on your wheels? Those are exactly what I want for my '72. Brand, size, are they the correct lug pattern?

Thank you.

PS your car is beautiful!

The chrome bumpers should stay with the green car.
You have too many 914s and over thinking it.

Lennie,

The wheels are Cragar 365 and are 4 x 100mm pattern. I'm not sure they sell that pattern anymore.

I think I have 7" x 15" up front and 8" X 15" on the rear. I am running 215/60 front tires and 245/60 rear tires. I have no rub front or rear but less than 1/2" clearance on the rear fender well with 1/2" spacer.

Very nice- really like the red cars!!

here is another member's currently for sale- i like the rocker and sail panals being body color btw, both ways look nice, but the chrome really give a nice contrast
i have a 75 and always thought the copper metalic would look nice with chrome too- maybe a back date project at some point!

4 x 100. I have found some Daytona's in this pattern. Are your spacers adapters? Or did you re-drill for that pattern?

Hey Lennie,

They are just spacers. I have threaded lugs with the proper metric 914 threads on the rotor end and then the correct SAE threads for the chrome lug nuts. I forget where I got them.

Hope this helps.
