Hi!
Finally getting the car back on the road after a "minor" electrical fire. Everything seems to be working fine, except that the low beams are intermittent. Originally thought it must be the headlight switch, but tracing through PP's wiring diagrams and switch/relay schematics has me thinking that it might be the headlamp relay ("combination relay" = #27 in the PP diagram). That the high beams are fine--and that the fog lights stay on even when the lows go "off"--seem to support that idea . . . . Does that sound right? Any BTDT? Thanks in advance for your time and efforts. Regards, Steve A- Oh BTW, the fire was due to a short at the fuse panel. One of the raised edges of the fuse panel cut through the insulation on one or more of the wires leading to/from the fuses. They wires probably had been resting on that edge since the car was built. I've since covered the sharp edges with some rubber welting (like little weather-strip) so it shouldn't happen again. I can post pic's later if anyone is interested Thanks again! |
