Does the alpha numerical designation at the end of a part number indicate something important or is it more like a batch or lot manufacturing number? For example:
021.109.111B VW 3H vs. 021.109.111B VW 15H Thanks |

On parts where color is one of the variables, the suffix indicates what color it is. The Cap'n

021 = type,model or version
1 = main group 09 = sub group 111 = part number B = modification code Any code after that can be colour, but often it has no meaning as far as a vw/porsche #'s go. BTW....Main Group numbers 1. Engine 2. Fuel tank, exhaust system, heating system (air conditioning) 3. Transmision 4. Front axel, steering 5. Rear axel 6. Road wheels, brakes 7. Hand lever system, pedal cluster (frame) 8. Body 9. Electricial equipment |

Each character means something. This looks like a cam sprocket, and they come in several varieties for the same part depending on the tolerance. Every variance in the part number means a slightly different part. You have to be exact when choosing the correct one. It has nothing to do with lot numbers that would indicate interchangeability.
