I met Jamie a couple of weeks ago while I had my car in our local Porsche repair shop. He lives about 30 miles from me and just bought the car from his father who bought it new. It is a 1973 1.7 and is the most original unmolested 914 I have ever seen. I have been trading e-mails to try and instruct him how to post pictures. His car is incredible and I hope he figures this out soon. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Don't listen to Qarl, he's a jerk. Well, he's a pretty anal jerk. OK, so he's a pretty anal jerk who's building a really amazing car. Yeah, a really anal, amazing jerk who's going to build a car a lot better than mine. So, don't listen to Qarl, he's a jerk. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/finger.gif)

So, bring it on. What's the question?

Welcome Jamie. Post your question and some of they guys will answer it and some of the guys will make fun of some of the other guys. And then someone will make an offhand political remark and then all Hell will break loose.

It's fun. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Welcome to the Board Jamie.

Regulator problem? Use the search engine for related posts, also read some of the articles on the bird board. Quite helpful.

I recently had overcharging problems I thought were the regulator. borrowed someone's relay board and the problem went away! replaced that relay board and all's well. well, at least with the charging system!

Let's see the pix of that car!

I'm still trying to navigate this strangggggge site- it's not what I would call self-explanatory to a non-geek like me. I'm more familiar with the plug and play concept! And tonight my AOL keeps blinking?? Ya'll don't have to worry about me having thin skin- as a former drill sergeant and Vietnam vet( 101st Airborne-sharpshooter,photographer, combat intelligence specialist) I've pretty much heard/seen it all.Did I mention the BA's in Philosophy& Social Psychology and Anthropologist wife for 38 yrs. who now lets me have a regular allowance when I beg?? I'll try to get the photos of Dad's toy posted tonight, and the voltage regulator worked after the mechanic hit it, but I decided to replace it anyway! I operate under O'Tool's Law-he's the guy that thought Murphy was an optimist!!
