Anybody else bought the repro rubber jack strap? Mine had just a little bit of tension on it. Was on there a week, looked under the rear carpet, and it had snapped in two! Kind of frustrating. It is intended to be stretched a bit, right?

My '73 still has the original and even with 40 years of getting brittle - yes there is some give to it. If yours has snapped it sounds defective.

Unfortunately my original pulled apart at the top metal loop - otherwise it is in great shape. attached is a pic of the new offender.

My repo snapped a couple of days after installation too. Might have been a bad run of rubber ???
