QUOTE:
Nice used roof for any 1970-76 Porsche 914. Top needs refinishing and may have some chips on the edges, like all used tops do. The hardware is not included, this is just the bare top. Porsche wanted $930 for a bare one when they were last available new! This is a great price considering you can't find these tops anymore. Please ask questions early as I'm sure this top will sell fast. Item sold as is.

Are these idiots for real?

Really, this just makes me sick.
$600 for a used targa roof with no hardware that needs to be refinished. WTF are these guys smoking?

What really sucks is some poor bastard who just bought his/her 914 might see that and think "Hell, I should pick this thing up." and spend $600+ on a $50 part. I think that is how AA stays in business. Sooner or later there won't be any 914 owners who are not in the "know" as the 914 numbers shrink. Only collectors or people like us will own them. I give AA another 10 years. What a bunch of (IMG:style_emoticons/default/bs.gif)

I've got ten - now I can afford that /6 3.6 Turbo conversion and still have money left over for gas (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol2.gif)

Shit, I tried to put in a bid for $1.00 but it won't let me.

The part I really love is "may have some chips on the edges" . . . well does it or does'nt it ? Geez, they should be able to look at the part and say whether it's chipped or not

I like the "Square Trade" BS too!

A couple years ago, after two eBay transactions that actually went OK, I bid and won one of their auctions for a left rear wheelhouse, the whole damn thing, for like $65!! Paypal'd the money, and it came back??? What the.... Tried again, came back... Then I get this BS reply that says "we've tried to block this bidder before", which is a total lie (they left me positive feedback on the prior two transactions). Then I get another email that says if I leave negative feedback they will leave negative feedback on me, and say that I had been slandering them on internet chat rooms. I reminded them that it isn't slander if the statements are factual.

What they didn't say was "gee we screwed up and didn't put a reserve on that part".

Square trade, square screwing! More eBay bull.

Although it makes me wonder what my real NOS roof is worth! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)

So, let's spam ebay with long auctions for items that mirror what they list for hundreds less...

It's like a game....

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

.... just slightly more diabolical.

I got mine from gary emory when he was in Costa Mesa- he had a lot of them...NOS in the factory wrapper. What did I do? Sanded it down and painted it.

Now if anyone wants one- used and without any seals and hardware, a couple of chips on the edges- let me know. Buy me some beer and come over and pick it up! DH
