I negotiated a group rate and have 15 rooms set up to start, The rate will be $99 a night, it's not a Motel 6, but not the W, but a good older hotel that will have a parking lot for us to "meet" in and they're ok with us BBQ'n in the parking lot.
There's not a lot of choice in that area that will meet our needs. This should meet our needs nicely. I'll have the group code for the rate in a few days. 2 Queens or King room. My wife has found that the Shiloh Inn has a VETERANS rate, it's only $89. Look for a dropdown in the rate area.
That savings pays for my gas. |

Ok, I've got to figure out how to embed the map. I probably have the most fun route I can imagine, though running up the coast sounds incredible. My route is 10 hours and some change and goes through mountains all the way. I think a night in Klamath Falls to split it up but it looks like the drive of a lifetime... Also, Here is a proposed road trip that takes about 2 hrs. Detour to ORP at lunch for a parade lap & BBQ/Lunch at the FinnSport garage.
 I've driven about half of this route and it is sweet! In the spring, ill drive the 216/197 route and check it out. |
