I negotiated a group rate and have 15 rooms set up to start, The rate will be $99 a night, it's not a Motel 6, but not the W, but a good older hotel that will have a parking lot for us to "meet" in and they're ok with us BBQ'n in the parking lot.
There's not a lot of choice in that area that will meet our needs. This should meet our needs nicely. I'll have the group code for the rate in a few days. 2 Queens or King room. Not a ton of savings but $10-$20 a night less. http://www.shiloinns.com/search_results.asp?PI=EDAOR Tenative Schedule June 13th – Kickoff Cocktail hour at The Thirsty Woman 6:00PM Mosier, OR 97040 I-84 W (to the Dalles)- exit 69 (only 45 minutes from Portland) Make a RIGHT at EXIT RAMP STOP SIGN Follow the road towards Historic Highway Route 30+ Post Office Right on MAIN STREET and you are there! just heard (via email) that we can share Oregon Raceway park the weekend of June 14 with another club!!!! Once I know the exact details and cost, I'll post them here. I believe that it is the ORP club and they stepped up and committed to that weekend knowing that we had reserved rooms in the gorge. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cheer.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_pokal.gif) OK Ive gotta make it. So Drew (or whomever) what about the RV thing? |

We have room for the cars in the back. I think I could pursuade mamagement that we have hirred security to watch the cars so we could sneak in 1 RV, but I'm pretty sure we would have a problem with more.

I'd hoped to make my first one. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
But my middle son is graduating from Oregon State on Saturday. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) I guess that gives me an extra year for my rustoration. LOL. |

eric, a 300 mile shake down run prob isn't such a good idea. 300 or less before you set out to work out any bugs might save you major hassles. by the time you get home it'll be over 1000. seen it a few times...radiator failure on a v-8 conv, shift bushing go kaput, wheel bearing adj, cables...

We'll see how soon I get it put back together, and if I get to drive it much before hand. If I don't get much time to ensure it is reliable, I may trailer to the event. But only if you guys promise not to call my baby "Trailer Queen". (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ar15.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) |

...not that you need any help, but here is a link to some videos on the track. The cool thing about ORP is we can run it both directions... I prefer CW in a car because its more challenging (blind apexes, off camber exits, etc.) but it is not for novices IMHO. Ive done CCW on a bike and felt more comfortable as to apexes and visual clarity, so we could do CCW the first few sessions to get people comfortable and then go CW if people want.
Either direction is a blast to drive and will challenge even TC, should he join us from the far south (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) http://oregonraceway.com/news-general-info/gallery-videos/ for those who never youtube... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Te0V71sGoxA...;feature=relmfu |
