What type of under pad are you putting under your 914's carpet.

Does the foil backed stuff from JC's work? I would like something that will not soak up water like a sponge.

Cheers

I guess drugs would be the obvious answer....

I used a vibration dampening mat. It's very heavy. I also used it on the firewall and under the seats and on the front trunk and rear trunk floors. It definitely cut the sound down.

McMaster-Carr - Do a search on Vibration and select Vibration Control Compounds.

I got the cheapest one. I also bought a 5 gallon pail of the paint stuff to use inside the doors and the wheel wells, but haven't done it yet. I figure I've added 50 lbs to the car....

Take a quick visit to your local auto body supply store.

They usually have several flavors of sound-proofing available, and you can choose one that you like best.

I didn't put anything under mine when it went back in after rust removal.
Right now there's a big discussion of several sound deadening products
over on the 911 pelican list.

Use Jute. Dont glue it all, just the coners. If it gets wet, replace it. Less exspensive...
