It's 2:40 am here and just came in from the garage. Going to track this weekend, and it's supposed to rain in SoCal. Wipers don't work. Fuse OK, wiring looks OK, what did I miss? Is there a relay that may be bad? If so, where is the little (s)ucker?

Pull the battery out, or use a spare, and connect directly to the wiper motor. The motor itself can go bad.

I just got my wipers working. Turns out they were just bound up. Had to pull the gas tank and the fresh air (?) box to get at it. Sprayed a bunch of anti-corrosion/lubricant on all the moving places, gave it a few taps and now they work.

Most time consuming part - taking the tank out.

Thanks, guys.

Pulled wiper arms, lossened everything, hit all rub points with WD40 before hitting the sack. They work!!

Glad it was this easy.

Same thing I thought when I didn't have to pull the whole assembly, glad you got them working.

Mine were parked in the middle of the windshield before I fixed them.

Don't mean to steal your thread, but i was fiddling with my wipers last night as they weren't working 100%. I found you can reverse the direction of the wipers.

Take the bolt out from the top of the motor & reverse the actuating arm. this allows you to place your wipers on the other side of the window.
The actuating arm in normal operation points towards the driver. Simply unsrew the 10mm bolt.
Free the joining rod assembly & point the actuating rod towards the passanger side. Then rebolt.

Obviously you'll need to take your wiper arms off & re-park them on the passanger side.

IMO it gives a better view of the road. Sorry don't have any pic's to post.

But what do you do about the arm with the crook in it? That wiper will be pointing up the windshield when parked (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I reversed the wipers on both my 911 and 914 and you have to do a little creative bending to get it to fit right.
Cheers, Elliot

There's a post on it somewhere, but think it's at Pelican. 'Makes the car look more modern', if you like that. And swap wiper arms (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
