> Rainbow Bright - What's your favorite - and least favorite - 914 colours?, Let's face it. Only in the 70's would a car come in so many wacky and outrageous colors! The 914 was BY FAR no exception, and with 37 different ones!

I know it's like saying your kid is the cutest in the class, but is there really any color better looking than Phoenix Red? I'm sure I'm biased, but I've always thought it was the best color on the road. Bold and flashy without being gaudy.

I also like silver, The Ice Blue Metallic looks awesome, Laguna blue, and Ivory.

I like every 914, but with that said...Ravenna Green and Delphi green are pretty bad. Both look like they came out of a diaper.

And all of the LE models look like they were designed by a 7 year old. Really...Bumblebee, and Creamcicle? What a shame for those of us that might want a LE.

I just bought an LE Creamsicle. But yeah, I agree with you. I think they could have come up with some better names. I was thinking of getting a personalized license place that reads CREMSCL, but let's face it...it's not the most masculine name in the world. :/

I just discovered that the red in the creamcicle is Phoenix Red. Haha...I think I like it more now. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Here's a pic of one identified by the owner as willow green. Looks a lot like the end car to me. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

I've seen that one before (the pic). That car is here in Jacksonville. I tried connecting with the owner, but no luck. Would be nice to know more 914 owners in my city. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I interpreted Bullethead's comment to mean the 914 furthest from the camera, which does look similar to Berber Yellow. But the non-BUB bumpers would imply a color other than Berber, probably Ravenna Green.

Regarding the car in the front, I don't think that is Willow Green. Actually, it doesn't look like a standard 914 color. The car below is Willow Green for sure:
(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads/post-121-1304193569.jpg)

And this one, which I believe is the AA 914-6, is supposed to be Willow Green as well:

The blue is Adriatic. Not sure what color Jeff's car is. Maybe he will answer. But it is lime green to me! Just need the my old Pheonix Red car to round out my favorites!

Porsche offered great colors back then.

I agree with you. Can you imagine walking on the lot and seeing the same car in 15 different colors? Imagine that today! Now everything is white, black, silver, gray, beige, maybe red and maybe blue if you're lucky. Especially on the 914 (I think since it was intended for a younger audience) it just came in such an assortment of great colors. Colors even came in multiple shades (several blues, greens, yellows, reds, etc.). Just makes them even more interesting and unique. Never boring.

I think about what the Porsche-Audi dealer on Manchester in Buena Park, CA looked like all the time. At night with the lot all lit up it was like a sparkly box of crayons. Wish I had a picture of that place. I bought a '73 Sunflower Yellow 1.7 from them. It was an incredible color, so deep you could walk down into it, so bright it would attract bugs like a porch light.

My current 914 is a Marathon Blue '74 2.0. I wanted silver but got blue by the luck of the draw and I've come to love the color.

I think rnellums Ice Green Metallic is the prettiest color on a 914 ever, but there are sooooo many in second place.
