I've been quite busy if not derilect in my duties. I hadn't the time till now and it's high time. It is supposed to snow Wed, Thrs and Sat evening so Idyllwilde should be a beautiful run. Ethan suggested that we name this run in Al Garcia's memory as it was his backyard and he never missed this run. We don't have ant rules or bosses here so I have as much say so as any one else. And by the powers invested in me by myself, I hereby declare that the Idyllwilde Run be known as The Al Garcia Memorial Run.
Date: Saturday Dec 15th
Where: meet at Starbucks, 889 West Florida Avenue, Hemet, CA 92543, 951-652-0910
Itenerary:
0545hr's - Meet, greet, BS 'n drink coffee
0615hr's - depart for Idyllwilde
0700hr's - eat breakfast, tell lies and console one another as we devulge how much we really spent on our 914's this past year (IMG:style_emoticons/default/hissyfit.gif)
0830hr's - depart for home and pic taking opt's on the return

Unfortunately I've got something this Sat morning to go to, but have a good run in honor of Al. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving-girl.gif)

However, I would consider joining you guys for a run sometime before my 914 resto is done - if y'all don't mind an `85 BMW 325e tagging along? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

Oh-dark-45 means an hour+ earlier for me to run from OC to IE though! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

No problem, Tom. You'd probably be interested in the Ortega HiWay run, then. Or, you can always hitch a ride as co-pilot.

Good, I'll keep my eye out for future dawn patrols & hopefully one will fit when I can get away to the IE.

Ortega is another good one, & IIRC y'all have done Palomar too, as is this route on Saturday.

When I bought my first car - a bare bones `68 Opel Kadette 2dr Sedan 1.0L 4spd - & learned to drive a stick on the way home from buying it & some practice - then Palomar was my first fun drive in the Opel! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

Of course back in 1969 there was virtually no traffic there! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif) Cars? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif) You just go so you can tailgate those poor motorcycles, Eric. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/av-943.gif)

I would love to go on one of these except for three things. Too far. Too cold. And way too damn early! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/av-943.gif)

Kent,
Due to the current weather predictions (which I don't trust), do you plan on making a decision late Friday on whether the run is still on, or should we just plan on having it?
Please advise,
Cesar

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) Me too. If the roads aren't open we can do a lower elev run like Ortega or Rice Cyn. I'll check the Wx again this evening. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) And Elyut, I totally understand the too early part. 99% of the world feels just as you do. Which is exactly why we depart so early. Thank God for the pillow huggers of the world. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
