Found this in my pile of 914 stuff. It's an early 1973 sales brochure calling the new 73 2.0 a 914S. Ray

So according to that brochure, the track is different on 2.0L vs 1.7?

The track difference is because of the tolerance stack up from the combination of the wider rim and the larger tire.

No where on the brochure does it mention having an "S" badge (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)
