Now I have a round old metal cap with vw on it.
What was stock on these cars? I want to get a new cap; preferably on with a Porsche crest. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) I look on ebay and see nothing. Is a 911 cap the same? |

This is the stock early (1970-74) filler cap. It has patina! They were not produced with a crest. Vintage! and only $5 + shipping! Let me know if interested...

The later caps do not have the VW logo. VW Thing used the same cap as the 914.

I have a nice VW cap on my Thingy. I have a couple of extras, I can add a Porsche emblem to it for the look you want.

Sorry for the blurry pics. The first one is a sticker. The second is a Porsche badge.

How do you uncrimp the cap to disassemble the internal rubber seals before sending to the platers .
