Snow season is coming on fast. I have a 03 Jetta wagen and I want to put snow tires on. Question, it is front wheel drive, do I need snows on the front or all around.

I would put them all around. The back needs lateral grip for the corners as well as grip for breaking. Are you going to go with studs?

I just put 15" steelies and bridgestone blizzak snow tires on my '03 GTi. I agree, put them on all 4 wheels.

Snow tires all around is the best way to go.

i use dunlop graspic ds1's on my golf. they last a lot longer than the blizzacks. they are cheap too. you definetly want to get 4 otherwise you are not gonna like the way the abs acts in snow. studded is nice but if you can get hakkapalitas(nokian) you will really love them . as a side note, i live like 20 minutes from you
as far as move somewhere with no snow....beleive me i would love to, but i just bought a new honda tracked snowblower tonight....talk about cool

One of the few things I still like about winter! slip-sliding away!

IMO people who get a lot of snow driving time are better drivers. Especially when it's time to get out of a sticky (or not so sticky) situation.

yeah, it's fun till you die at the hands of an SUV driver who thinks they are the exception to the rule that the speed limit is determined by the driving conditions. Happens far too often over here. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

you are SO right about this. grew up in MI and lived there 25 years. moved to SF and the first thing I noticed, when it only rained I might add, is how terrible the drivers are! you would have thought they were driving in a white out blizzard. funny thing is, after living there for 5 years and then driving in snow again I was the same way initially.
