 engine number stamped wrong? |

I just noticed that my engine number is missing a leading zero. From everything else I can tell from the databases it matches the chassis vin number for a '73 2.0 but it Is just one number short. Anyone else come across this?

Anyone else come across this? http://www.bigporsche.com/history914w.htm Nothing is wrong with your GA case #, but that chart you linked did add an extra digit after the GA, so they're not the experts they think they are at "big porsche"! There is no correlation VIN to engine nor transaxle case numbers, except what you can get from you car's COA (Certificate of Authenticity from PCNA), which is the only way to verify if you have a "matching numbers" car. |
