And I remember that airing on local LA TV during my senior year in college! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Once I got my 73 2L a couple of years later & after securing a job, I proved that mpg & range to be well conservative - if one drove for mpg rather than performance, as many of us did during the two 70's gas crises!

I did Orange County to San Fran averaging 32-35 mpg most trips, with 1/4 tank to spare regularly, when just cruizin the I-5 freeway route to SFO! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

SFO was still doable on a single tank while really (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) on 101 & 1/Coast Hwy too!

I can't remember the 914 being promoted as an economy car! Of course, I can't remember what I had for breakfast! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

That is a huge air scoop on the economy car that the Tom Selleck look alike is driving. Love his driving gloves! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif)

fun shots. i would give anything to have a 914 right off the lot. fresh. brand new and nice and shinny. knowing no one has messed with anything. although is look like those 14's are in need of some sway-bars. ha ha
