I've been thinking about putting together a spring event in West TN, anyone interested? This would be more social and tech, than anything. I'm thinking Jackson, TN or Nashville area.

Any interest???

I like the idea of Nashville. I spent 5 years there and the area is great for an event. The new road race track would also be great for a weekend event. Maybe a joint Autocross or Solo I with the SCCA? A driving tour and an evening dinner out in town (somewhere with a big parking lot, so we could park the cars together) I would be in....even though it is a heck of a drive from Houston.

Hmmm....perhaps a good opportunity for Kit Carlson to showcase some of his EMS toys.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)

Perry,
Have it in Memphis, and Cooley will come. Plus you can draw more people that way. I would be inclined to come if it was in Memphis. It's about 8 hours to Memphis, another 3 to Nashville.

AND WE COULD INVADE GRACELAND!!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

By the way, this picture was taken just outside of Nashville on the Natchez Trace Parkway. Nice drive, but not much of a challenge in the 914.

Nashville would be great, As a town for an event like this Memphis sucks. Memphis and west Memphis are the Armpit of the earth, no offense to you guys that live there. If you do a Nashville or surrounding area event, you could probably get Jake and some of the Atlanta crowd as well as the TN, AL , MS, GA, NC,KT, etc crowd. This event could get really big.

I would love to go to an event, since i've never been to one. That would be close enough to attend, definately!

About the same distance as the FFC for me (6 hours), so if I have the '74 "reliable" by then, I'm in!

I emphasize "reliable", because "pretty" ain't gonna happen by then (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

I'm still a little nervous about taking a long drive, but Nashville would be "do-able" for a weekend road trip...

And not to pile on disrespect, but Memphis really does suck a dead cheeta's a$$ (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Isn't Dale Hollow Lake somewhere near Nashville? Might have some good driving roads, and closer than TotD.

Well, I could put up between 4-6 people, more if you want to camp out on the floor, and even more if my rental house is empty then! There is a couple fair motels here, but it's a dry county, so none of them has a bar.

I was thinking that if this happens, we'd tour here for a tech session and a jam??

Sounds like I need to plan to head that way..... if the /6 is up and running by then. I am hoping for it, but I am not sure. Depends on a bunch of things.......... Like brake parts. I can live without the interior being finished, but I can't drive it if I can't stop it!!!!

Or I may just wait until Parade in Hershey, and stop by on the way up!
