VIN stamp in front trunk. Was it ORIGINALLY bare metal like on the 4's or was it painted over ? If it was painted, was it body colour or blacked out like on the 911's ? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) Pics of original ones would be great (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Excellent. I had only found one other pic of a white one, and it too was body colored. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

I actually like the idea of the VIN being painted over in the body color. The only thing I would add is that on my car I would like the VIN to be taped off neatly and only receive maybe 2 coats of body color so it is still clearly visible and not filled with paint. I see some and they are almost completely obscured by several coats of primer, paint and maybe clear.
