After pulling the engine and cleaning the engine compartment. I found that the suspension dog ear or control arm pickup off the body was split completely thru the middle of the hole on the divers side. Is there a reinforcing kit available or do I cobble up a plate to fit? Has anyone encountered this problem. Any tips for repairing.

Yep. I have done 3 of them this year. DO NOT try and patch that piece. Replace it. There is NO way you will get all the rust out of the bottom of the cracked ear. Battery acid seeps down into the nooks and crannies of that ear causing rust issues just like it does to the battery trays.
