Heading out for the west coast. Gonna get the 928. Haul it to texas and put its heart into my 914. With help from Rick. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_pokal.gif) Any one need anything hauled from DFW to LA area? We are draging an empty trailer out. Any Ideas for a catchy name for this one? My kids say Alien II Deamon Speed. I dont know (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) there is only one Alien (IMG:style_emoticons/default/alien.gif)

If you'll be taking I-40 through Albuquerque, you're welcome to stop in.

Predator has been done. it was a bad ass 85 928 burgundy metallic. 3 piece 18" wheels custom front air dam bumper cover.

What model 928 are you getting? the parts on them cars are worth a mint. PITA to sell but..... Just front spindles for a 78 go for 100 bucks. Door panels 500-1000.

Joe is right..you'll make all your money back and probably more parting it out (sad to see one of these rare cars parted out though!)...If it is a manual...sell all the driveline parts together as many like to convert their auto's to manual (but also cut out the firewall piece that the pedal cluster attaches to as they did make that area different in the autos). Note the fenders, doors and hood are aluminum!

Be prepared to remove about 5 miles of wiring! lol

Also, if it has a non-cracked dash pod and upper dash..you'll get premium for that as most are cracked.

Jim

p.s. great brakes on 928's...not sure if they can be retro'd onto a 914

the fronts should go on a 911 strut. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
Match up well with a boxster rear (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

78 thru 81 and non "S" cars had the Huge single piston calipers with 3" bolt spacing. I bolted a set onto some 914-6 struts. Let Rob take them to his house for a song.
"S" brakes rock I upgraded my 78 car. Being the car was lighter it stopped with serious authority (hawk blue pads).

Anyway there are alot of 928 guys that polish thier chrome on Rennlist.

Hey I got a Euro intake for CIS with injectors if you got the need.

How about calling it "Plan 9" in keeping with the space idea?

We are going out and back through ElPaso. Its the short way from here. I know about winter trailering I used to live in Wausua Wis. and drove long haul for years. Its fun coming down Donners Pass and watching the trailer try to pass (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) Whats your story?
