Any good of the shelf [you know Autozone, etc.] gear oil??

Also..what weight Gastrol GTX on a new rebuild start up or is it time to go synthetic??

Swepco for the 901 tranny and 30wt non-detergent for a start up and run in to seat the rings on the rebuit motor.

I just got a bunch of plain old Coastal 80/90 gear oil at my FLAPS. If its good enough for red-beard...

For motor, use dino kendall or castrol 20/50, unless its real cold where you are.

I agree: non-detergent 30 weight for 500 miles, then the QUALITY oil you prefer.
