I looked at my 1973 2.0 engine vin and it has the GA which is correct for 1973 2.0 but instead of 3 zero's then 4 numbers it only has 2 zero's then 4 numbers. Is this right?

GA006389 is the engine vin

All the info i originally found showed there should be 3 zero's....but i have foumd a few articles with car for sale and they show a six digit vin with the two letters in front as well.

That engine number appears to be correct for that VIN (very late MY '73). They probably just left out one of the leading zeros when they stamped it.
