These are OEM badges that came off a Brumos Porsche 1973 914 car (car belonged to Brumos), one on the hood and one on the rear (opposite the 914 2.0 emblems).
Both badges are in good, original and unrestored condition. One badge has both pins in back and ready to install. The other has no pins (this one was on the hood secured with a sticky adhesive, since removed). Vintage OEM Genuine Porsche Orange Bar Badge Hood Emblem (no pins): $300 Vintage OEM Genuine Porsche Orange Bar Badge Hood Emblem (has both pins): $400 |

You'll find more prospects on early S registry. The cars there actually had these badges. And the owners will spend coin for originality. Don't clean or polish them. |

You'll find more prospects on early S registry. Thanks for the tip! What is the S Registry? Could you provide me with a link? I appreciate it! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) Yes, though the 914 didn't come badged, it was a dealer option. The orange bar would have been period correct for the 1970-1974 years for those (like myself) who want to keep their cars period-correct. I have the red bar badge on my 1975. But I have one more orange bar I'm keeping for myself for my 1974 (if I ever decide to badge it). (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) |

Never hood badge a 914 if you want to keep it factory correct. A part that was and is available at the dealer, and was sometimes installed on 914s at the dealership, does not make it correct or a 'dealer option'.
Hood badges on 914s are bogus and devalue the 914 IMHumbleO. |

Gee, thanks for helping me with the sale, Jeff! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/chair.gif) lol
Yes, the could and were installed by the dealer as an option. And many people like them on their cars. I have one on my '75. Looks nice. But I don't have a badge on my LE. For those who want a badge that is period correct 1970-1974, this is the one the dealer would've put on your car. For many, it's just personal taste. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |
