After starting a complete fuel system rebuild (thanks ethanol), the last bits to be restored were the fuel rails. The problem was I just couldn't get inside the rails to remove all the junk that had built up over the last 40 years. Then I saw this post by bdstone914:
http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showtopic=206217 Well I got both rails and they are even better than the post pictures! Here are some comparisons to the restored rails and my best attempt to clean up the old rails. Unfortunately what I can't show is the inside which is just as shiny as the outside.
