Trying to get things worked out on my 73 2.0L djet transplanted into my 74 shell. Besides a high idle (I know, vacuum leak... haven't had time to figure that out) I noticed today that the intake pipes from the plenum to #3 were much hotter than #1/2 but only a little hotter than #4.
Is this normal or is it a symptom of something (perhaps loose #3 intake valve)? It also sounds a slight bit punchy / motorcycle-ish and doesn't seem to like low speed as much as it did when I had it working in my 73 (may be timing, haven't done anything besides get it close to my mark on the oil funnel where it was timed correctly). Hard to do this kind of thing between work, my boys' baseball games, and keeping the wife happy. Stealing 30 minutes here and there is a hard troubleshooting window. |
