I'm in the process of re-installing a Petronix unit after cleaning up a used dizzy I picked up. There is an adjustment possible on the base of the unit to change the gap between the ignition unit and the rotating magnet. I read the generic instructions from the Petronix site but they don't mention any specific gap as part of the install process. I set the gap at .016 but I really have no idea if this is matters or not.

Thoughts?

Here's a picture I took before the clean-up and there doesn't look to be much gap at all:

Thanks,

John

That will work just fine. Stick it and go.

I put mine in last week and the instructions recommended .010-.050 gap. Let me know how you like it. Still building my engine so it'll be awhile before I know if it made a difference in my car.
