(IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) I have a 72 914 which was starting few weeks ago. When I went to started this week it would turn over but will not start. The fuel gauge said res.so I go two gallons of gas and put it in. Know when I try to start the gas leaks from the bottom of the car of the engine bay . Does this mean a sucked up some dirt from the tank and plugged up the carbs or a fuel line busted ?

Check the fuel lines first and be careful of fire. If the lines are orginal I'm sure they are the problem.

Thank you ! it should be between the fuel pump and the carb that would be a good guess.

+1 on the fuel line. Don't do ANYTHING ELSE until you solve this problem. Do a search of "914 fire" and you'll see why.
