I am trying to load a roller (no tranny/engine) onto a rented trailer and the rear wheels are locked. Any suggestions on how to free the brakes? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/chair.gif)

Grab the ebrake cables and flex them in and out... "move them around"

OR.. take the calipers off

Before I fixed my rear calipers, I used to just work the little lever on the caliper by hand if it got stuck.

i pick up alot of junk 914s real common for the brakes to be locked up.when they are i remove the brake pads.
i take a floor jack punch and vise grips and two pry bars.easy move after the pads are removed

Thanks for all the responses! Does beating the calipers off with a 2 pound sledge hammer qualify as a "brake job"? Back wheels roll now (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif) . What a pain in the (IMG:style_emoticons/default/bootyshake.gif) .

This is the car that I plan to cut up so the calipers aren't a big deal. I had several people comment that I am planning to cut up the wrong car as my other on is pretty rough looking. I'm going to post "should this car be saved" before I make the final decission to cut it up.

2 pound sledgehammer is way too much work. Move up to at least an 8 pound (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smash.gif) . It can be used for pounding on the end of your breaker bar when you get to the rusted on lug nuts, rusted on cylinder studs, rusted on ... well you get the picture. Eventually you can use it to remove the rusted on jack stands that may of us have experienced. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol2.gif)
