Very cool!!!!

The price point is a little high for most 914 owners. Not that it's not worth it but it is pricey. If you could shave $1000 off the price, you would sell plenty.

Mike,
Good point but the costs of the reproduction plugs and
the development are a high cost factor.

The named price is a ~price
I think for export it can be reduced
of the German tax.

If I know how many are interested I will ask for the final price

I applaud your initiative and hope you are able to offer this product at a reasonable price. However group buys seldom attract high volumes of buyers. I maybe wrong, but seems to be a boutique market for this product, hand made, by dedicated individuals like Jeff.

I agree the composite plugs are probably expensive, but the rest of the plugs I have encountered can be sourced at the local electronics store. As you already know these circuits are assembled on a huge plywood board then the final product is wrapped in insulation and off it comes. All hand made.

Hi Wilco, this is interesting to see...after I have already invested 100s of hours and $$$ into developing the design for these... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) Mine are still in progress...

These chassis harnesses are a huge amount of labor, kudos to whoever has made this. The costs of the wire alone are over $1000. for each harness when bought in bulk quantities FWIW, so they will be expensive.

Which year 914/4 will this harness fit? Is this for Euro-market or USA-market cars? Each model year and market-specific 914/4 has a different chassis harness, they are not universal.

Niklas,
The Harness you can buy there is fucking bad and is raw without any
plugs or other connectors so you must use your old one.
Btw The crappy thing Kabel Gross sells was the cause to develop this harness

The harness that I promote here is a complete harness with all plugs and
connectors

So do not compare eggs with apples

Jeff,
This harness is designed to make quick changes if needed
If you tell the year you need you get the right one.
The harness is build by order and not stocked so
it is possible to integrate whishes or year specific adjustments

I am still having issues with the used harness I put into my blue car.

I wish this new one had been available back then, even for $1700 it would be worth the headaches avoided.

I don't know if I have the patience to pull the old mostly working one out now and replace it.

Give this some thought if you have not put your car back together, if you are already doing $10K or more restoration this is probably worth the money.

I wish I had bench tested my old harness before putting it back in...

Biggest problem is the exchange rate. US dollar is worthless. You spend 1 Euro like we spend $1, But is costs us almost $2 to buy 1 Euro.

I would buy one if the price can come down... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
