For the record I did use the search option and was unsuccessful searching
What can I use to clean up my terminals for the electrical connections in my 914? Somewhere I had read something about dielectric grease but I'm thinking I need to clean the terminals first. Thanks for your help David |

Google "electronic contact enhancer" I use Stabilant 22 ($$$$!, available at GM dealers), but there are a lot of good ones out there.

I've used these for 40 years.
http://www.stanleysupplyservices.com/jonar...rnishers/g/8172 Still have the original one. Mine has diamond strips with different grits and came with ~10 strips in the handle.. Once you've cleaned chemically, then with bronze and SS brushes, then start polishing with this. Polish is a way to reduce surface area (against oxygen) and is a corrosion fighting system as well. Not the harsh file-oriented cleanup but this is where you build in further problems, assuming you're not pushing too much current through the connector. Good luck |

Like the Cap'n says, that or "electrical contact cleaner", which used to be (maybe still are) carbon tetra-chloride. I've used different brands, they all seem to work, in a small can-high price.
