Is that a 72 /6? Not many 914s rarer than that.

Every year at that event, they 'feature' a model. It looks like the 911 was the feature. As the cars come to the event, they stop them and take a static picture with the driver and tell the driver where to park. My guess is they saw this and decided it needed to be featured along with the featured cars. That is beautiful... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/drooley.gif)
Later this year Sierra Nevada Region is having a concours. I hope he brings that over the hill! I'm sorry I missed seeing it! |

It looks like it's the same 914 that was shown at the Parts Heaven Concours. Pat Garvey would probably nit-pick a few things (hood emblem, Euro taillights) but obviously the car is near flawless. It's a '71 1.7 liter ...

Saw this beautiful car at the Part Heaven Swap Meet and it is as pretty in person as it appears in the pictures. A very nice example. Gotta love the Irish Green paint.

I think it's a '71 1.7 4 cyl. hubcaps, ignition on right of column and shiny appearance of upholstery that only '71 had. Oh, and the covered pass. side mirror on visor ? Beautiful car. [/quote] I dont know 914 very well yet, but I saw this post and it made me think. My first 914 back in high school was a roller, that i started to rebuild but never finished and the ignition was on the left by the light switch. Does that mean it was possibly a 914-6? |

It was almost rust free, but it was just a tub, we even had to buy wheels and tires to get it out of the barn it was sitting in. and we used channel locks on the steering column. |

"virtually new" 914 wins Sacramento Valley PCA preservation class AND Niello best-of-show on Sunday . . Thank You everyone for your comments about "The Green Machine". I'm the very proud owner of the car. Little History 1. Built 01/71 2 Picked up in Germany by San Rafael Couple they didn't like the horse power so wanted a 911 my Friend John FitzGerald bought the car from them in 71 and had the car until John sold it to me in February. 1.7 engine. Took John 2 years to final sell me the car. Best part he was only going to sell it to me... 3. I wanted to show why the 914 is one of the best Porsche ever made so you will see it at the PCA Zone 7 concours this year except Monterrey (sorry have to work out of USA at that time.) 4. 100% original except back lid was repainted due to an ice chest in the garage during the 89 quake. 5 , Was AXed, used for Hill climbing and has been to Parade. In fact owners manual is signed by the Porsche family at the 77 parade in San Diego. 6 Has been a Redwood region PCA car since 1971 and will always be a Redwood Region Car.. THX Bob |

Kim and Rachel Nelson often judge the PH event. They have many Porsches but at heart they are 914 and 356 people. They would have known the footrest to be rare and original. Too bad they didn't judge it... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

I called my dad and told him about it, he felt bad that he didn't know more about 914's all those years ago. If I could do it over I would love to build a six, but I am too far into mine already. I hope he tolds onto it and doesn't make any crazy decisions!
