Porsche made tractors for several years. They are actually very good, except for the later "Master" models which had bad crankshafts (which could break). Field testing of tractors, done at one of the corn belt states, ranked Porsche tractors very well, except for the cost factor.

Air cooled diesel engines, which except for the one model, were very reliable with excellent longevity.

I'm sure you can find more info on the tractors if you Google for it.
This photo was taken at a Porsche Club meet in The Netherlands last year.

There was one for sale somewhere around here...they wanted big bucks for what it was.
About 6X the amount of a same tractor without the P name.

There is a local event here, which involves the porsche tractors.

A guy owns a bunch of them and has an event partially around them..

He hold a Schlepper-cross, or autocross where he actually lets you drive them on a dirt course around cones......

Does it's VIN end in 114 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) ?

To hell with the course, just plow the competitors under. Betcha it cuts a mean swath thru the weeds with that sickle mower.

The have a lot of torque but tend to "plow" in the corners (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif)

I never get tired of that one, I crack me up.

That thing is set up all wrong.
Way to much camber in the front wheels.
