This is a great way to show case a car that is for sale or auction. I bet the fat ass rich Barrett guys would pay good $$$ for one of these to market their car.
Also can you do a shot where you circle a parked car a few times and then hover through its open doors from one side to the other showing the interior. Super coooool Jaime. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) |

Hey this is really cool. How expensive are these? What does a descent one cost? Isn't there one that you can control with your iPhone?

David Blade is coming out with a new model that is designed to work with GoPro cameras. It should be pretty reasonable (I would guess under $200 for a BNF). http://www.bladehelis.com/350QX/ Avoid the iPhone controlled junk. I have a helicopter with an iPhone app to control it (would gladly sell it for $15 plus shipping). There is no substitute for real RC controls. The phone controlled units are just a novelty toy and they have a very short range (similar to a Bluetooth headset). |

David Blade is coming out with a new model that is designed to work with GoPro cameras. It should be pretty reasonable. I'm betting a "bind and fly" version will be well under $500 (for use with an existing radio). http://www.bladehelis.com/350QX/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=playe...p;v=r6tyn598dy0 Sky's the limit though. The heli setup we used at the resort had a few thousand invested. Avoid the phone controlled junk. They are just a novelty toy. The last video I just shot with my GoPro. I used time lapse at the start and then mounted to my quadcopter. I don't have GPS stable or any other fancy filming ability. However, I think it came out nice with some simple edits.

This is neat. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) When the engine is visible in the corner of the screen is that a result of the camera mount moving or flexing or the wing on the aircraft?

There is some flex in my quadcopter, but also the GoPro mount doesn't quite take it low enough to get it out of the picture. I try tilting the camera as best I can, but then I have to fly this at a weird angle to get the 'shot'. I'm saving my pennies so I can buy a gimbal that will hang the camera lower and then auto level the camera despite the attitude of the 'copter. |

Flying a home built hand-me-down I bought off of eBay a few months ago. Bought it to learn and now I'm building up something bigger. Too much fun!
As for the place filmed. In-laws live on the beach. If you watch again, you can see a "A FRAMED" house at the top of the property. That's our cabin. It's my wife's (sugar momma) and our go to place for a small get away from the Seattle people. It's always about the meal, the family, and a few cocktails. Farming Oysters for personal use on the beach. Yea, Happy Hour at any hour here! Current neighbors are awesome and they make their place look like a fuch'n park setting. I married UP....way UP! |

Holy cow, that Blade quadcopter I referred to is way more aerobatic than I realized. Must have.

One of my HAM radio buddies is pretty heavy into RC copters and quads. He's planning to build his next (larger) quad from individual components, says it will cost much less than a pre-built RTF or ARF craft. I asked him to order two of everything and we'll get together to build them (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)
GPS, gyro stabilized pan/tilt camera gimbal, FPV, the whole she-bang (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) He recently attended a function where there was a lifting contest ... one gas-powered quad lifted a payload in excess of 50 lbs (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif) |
