Converting over to the 3.6 V-ram presents new obstacles in covering over the high point of this engine. This customer had drawn up several solutions, and decided on the single hump.
Kind of like one of the 2 humps on the Carrera gt. The shape will continue into the mesh area of the grill, with the actual mesh shaped to match. New technique: Form follows horsepower. Marty |

Funtion before fashion! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif)
Is there a way to put longer breaks in the trunk lid itself instead of the small hump? More work but it could look cool.... |

Nice solution. However, slapping Porsche crests all over the place is kinda tacky, IMO. Kinda like letting the P-car key fob hang out of your pocket as you troll the bars.

Not something I would go for. But assuming function is the only consideration, it would get the job done.

Interesting approach. It looks like the engine is in, got any pics of the clearancing you did? McMark, the engine was installed using existing oe 9146 mount on the firewall, as the car is an original six. If it was brought in as a 4cylinder conversion car, I could drop the conversion mount a bit and gain some top clearance. This new look trunk (customer design) was the best choice that this 914 owner decided on. We will post more under car pictures as we are able ! Marty |

On my car, we modified the plenum so the intake could be rotated which allowed for the air cleaner and assorted sensors to be mounted below the decklid. I'd be interested to see some closeups too .. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) |

The Cap'n Whatever the client decides on is how it rolls. I think that once it hits the paint booth , he will reconsider slapping any stickers on his hot rod. |

0396, utilizing an aftermarket mount I could modify it to drop the engine another 1". Not enough to lose much ground clearance. The rest of the clearance could be with Sir Andy's technique, I think he said that all of the v-ram actuation remains operational.

The Cap'n At most of our ages John, just trolling the bars qualifies as tacky enough without the P-Car key fob! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) |

But not the 96-98 engines due to the height of the intake. If this knowledge is incorrect please advise. Thanks |
