(IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_pokal.gif) Hello all, just wanted to share my soon to be future endeavor for the ground up rebuild of my beloved '72.
Here is my wants, needs and desires: Going to flare it with the glass flares received the other day (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Going to a CIS injection with a turbo setup--I am going to totally develope this system: the headers,, piping, intake plenum, as so forth. It will unbelievable compact, nothing at all like you see from those other photos. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) I absolutely must retain all the storage compartments for the intended use: the trunk must still hold my top, the front trunk must still hold my coleman beer cooler. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif) So I am also designing an oil cooler mount made of sandwich composite that will be place on the rear trunk top--going to be radical!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Doing the chassis reinforcements: Also swapping all the factory sway bars from my other car, got the reinforced rear arms back the other day--a place called Nelson Brothers in Fort Lauderdale did them up for me---very high quality!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif) Well, here goes nothing!!! Oh, and I just got a new fujifilm digital, man that thing is nice!!! --Oh crap--it won't let me upload the pics!!!!!! Can someone help me with this upload thingy???? wHEW! FINALLY GOT THEM TO UPLOAD!!! |

QUOTE So I am also designing an oil cooler mount made of sandwich composite that will be place on the rear trunk top--going to be radical!! not too sure I understand that one...you are going to mount the cooler on top of the rear trunk lid??? not too sure how well the air flows over the rear trunk lid...someone posted pictures of a 914 in a windtunnel, might have to search for it now.... |

That is great!! I was just sitting in my car last night reading the rules and regulations for POR's different classes and wondering what I am going to do.
Your experience will be very encouraging to me. I will definately watch your thread. |

QUOTE Oh crap--it won't let me upload the pics!!!!!! Can someone help me with this upload thingy???? Don't preview your post. make sure that the file size is small enogh, less than 300kb. If you are on dial upanything over 100kb takes to long for the system. that's my experience anyway. |

I will definately watch your thread. just remember he is in FL...different rules might apply...also make sure you do some research into all of the modifications you see people doing here...such as the rear trailing arm mods he did....extra unsprung weight (a bad thing) and mostly deemed un-needed until you are running 12" slicks and 400hp (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) jwalters...you going to totally strip the chassis and acid dip it??? |

QUOTE My arms flexed allot, even with 195/55's on them...the on/off gas understeer was incredible---unsprung weight be damned---I want it tight!! it was not the trailing arms you felt twisting...now the mountings and bushings you might have felt give, but not the trailing arms....throw them back on with everything 100% the same and you'll get the exact handleing....... download IrfanView, it's free....you can resize the pictures for posting onto this site...it supposed be someplace here, but I just did a google search and downloaded it from someplace else..... |

QUOTE(jwalters @ Dec 7 2004, 11:32 AM) what type does it need to be??? GIF, JPEG, what type??? gif is only good for lineart, logos and such. photos should always be JPG ... shrink the pics to something like 640 x 480 and save them as medium compression jpegs ... that should reduce the filesize to around ~30k, which is perfect for uploading here ...
