I'm chasing a problem where our database suddenly doesn't want to deal with unicode characters anymore ...

Had to reconfigure, convert and restart the database.

You need to do the following:

- Go to your "Control Panel" and select "Fonts"
- On the left, click on "Font settings"
- Uncheck (!) "Hide fonts based on language settings"
- Click OK

This will enable full unicode support on your computer ...

Actually, that is your local computer switching left/right on those characters since they are in a language that is written right to left.

On mine, they look exactly like the picture posted.

So, i guess that laugh is on you ...
