Both installations pictured use 1.8 intake air distributors. Why not a 2L unit?

I used the "orange tag" European Scirocco unit. We built a ton of CIS T4 engines in the late 90s. Camshaft selection is critical!

camshaft is 391 lift 270 duration

target cis system is from 83 GTI (top photo is an 83 GTI system)
