there was a guy here locally, daddy owned an acura dealership. Well he sunk about $80k total into this integra-including the car- and it was pretty fast, when it was running. I dont think its fair to comparte someones car w/ 10k worth of mods to a stock german car w/ say, no mods. Alot of pple do this and it just proves that germany has a good reputation. When i was into supras, alot of other guys went for the big hp cars. mine was only like 300hp to the rear wheels, but i could drive it reliably whereever. Most of these 1100hp monstrosities never see the street, at least not often. Most are track cars or show cars w/ dyno sheets in the windshield.

i'm still trying to figure out how to put a small lcd screen in the silver car so i can buy an x-box, play racing games and watch finding nemo. the hats backwards is one thing... when they wear them sideways with the tags hanging off them (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif) . in all fairness, stripped bell bottoms, fringed leather jackets, ben franklin shades, and earth shoes were quite a fashion statement.

I have a couple of friends that are really into the DSM stuff. They both have Talons and mod them. Nothing will change the fact they are 4cyl cars and just sound like crap. They have free flow exhuasts on them, they are loud, but not elegant loud, crapy un-refined loud. They don't interest me in the least. Two things come to mind:
"My Honduh doe's 9's in the quarter mile,,,,and still,,no body likes me!" As I sat at a stop light in an 87 911 I had at one time a POS riced out civic pulls up next to me. Kid looks over and yells: "Lets go!" Light is still red, Sunday morning even, fuck, I might have to. "Nah, I shouldn't, nice car, that a civic?" Kid looks surprised, maybe that I complimented his car? "Yeah." "I thought so, my secretary drives one too." Light turns green and I gracefully turn right as I see him sitting at the light. My point is, what a frigging waste of time, energy and money to take a perfectly decent commuter car and hack, tape, bondo the hell out of it until you make it worthy of nothing more than the scrap heap. I don't care what anybody tells me they have under the hood. If I square off with another car, it will be another Porsche. I am a snob that way, but my car deserves better than to be seen squabling with the likes of rice. Were's that stuck up nose smiley. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

There are definitely some serious people out there with Japanese
cars, even if most of the stuff you see on the highway is junk with body mods and coffee cans. But don't worry, there's serious Porsche people in that field, too. In a few days I should have an in-car vid of a fully-street-legal normal-looking '88 930, that does 10.7@140mph and kills off the supras, etc. Some pecilan board viewers may know the person. |
