Here's the deal I've got a 72 914, in need of the hot rod treatment. and someone gave me a 88-honda accord so I'm thinking let's strip the motor and tranny from the honda and fit it all in the porsche, (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sawzall-smiley.gif) can any body tear this idea apart before I start?
Be brutal. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/chair.gif)

swap the honda motor but keep the porsche tranny. that's a maybe in the possibility* factor. check out the Vtech thread here (recent)....

if you REALLY want to hotrod it, sell the accord for a little $$, buy a SBC, and then GO FAST.

*anything is possible with copious time, money, and skill -- but some things may not be worth it..... like putting an accord tranny in a 914.

You will have to flip the ring and pinion to keep the 901, but you could go with a stock 915 tranny and run the ricer motor.

I was thinking more along the lines of using the tranny, modify the sheetmetal in t5he trunk and keep it all . I could keeep the starter, radiator, fan, have a tuner motor and great mileage from the 5spd.

the 88 honda isn't exactly a "hot rod" motor. If your going to do a swap, at least get 190 hp or more! my 2.0 isn't that far off in the hp range compared to a late 80's honda. I bet it's pretty damn close.
