Anyone know of a source for the seal that goes between the throttle body and plenum on the l-jet setup?

I think Mikey at 914Rubber.com sells them.

If not try Auto Atlanta: http://www.autoatlanta.com/

Does anyone know if the 1.7l throttle body gasket is the same or will it fit the 1.8l?

Different. Do a search, I think there is a template that you can download ? Auto Atlanta has sold them, call them...

Don't think a template will work, this is a 3 dimensional gasket.
it slides over a tapered round end on plenum and then throttle body slides over that.
