up here in bc we have to run our cars through a gov't aircare similar to smog testing, although they don't care what we run as long as it passes....
So... I ran my 75 2.0 with injection through after its fancy paint job..... Fail....damn! trake it to some hot shot mech shop in abbotsford, "no problem guy, mercedes have the same injection... Ive been working on this stuff for years"
The ran the fourteen through aircare after dinging up the fender.... 1000.00 buckaroos and two fails at aircare.....
I get a conditional insurance good for three months.
Our hero mech says "it needs to be run a little, come back after a month of driving and we'll put it through again."......I says "SCREW THAT NOISE" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/finger.gif)
I ran it fo a month and talked to some volks air-heads....
Enter methyl hydrate 2litres in the tank.... fail....
2 more litres in the tank......PASS!
That will take me two next winter for the awaited six transplant time....
If I am sneeky I can get two years out of it, not bad Eh?
Minus the big shops bill......(but some of the stuff they did was needed) :... THe fender, they took the hit on that one... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)
