I hopped in my car the other day and my seat broke through the floorpan a little more than it was before, and it got a little worse yesterday.
So, what actually happens when it breaks all of the way through while driving? |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/WTF.gif) are you seriously asking this ?
First grade physics says you go through the floor, lose complete control of the car, go careening off in any multitude of directions, sparks from the seat tracks dragging on the pavement at 50 mph ignite your pants, which then ignites your shirt. After plowing down a group of senior citizens out for a day of shopping your car comes to an ubrupt stop when it collides with some immobile object ( I.E the side of the local post office ) Once you regain consciousness you manage to crawl out through the window, and go running down the street to George screaming in pain where he sells you new new floor pan. |

Just screw a sheet of plywood to the bottom of the car. That will last a year or two

I kinda figured that since it's just on the left side that it might settle against whats left of the floorpan or inner long... I had a bug once that had a similar situation, but they have quite a bit more seat if something should happen.
And yes, I'm thinking about how I can get it fixed soon. I just wondered if anybody has had this happen to them while in the car. |

Is the other side rusty? Do you have a console that would get in the way? Do you have long legs? Ya see where this is going? ........................................

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) I am thinking that the lack of making a structural diaphragm with the rear firewall and the longs might be an issue when changing direction (intentionally) with quickness. i.e. it might bend eventually. |

I guess I'll just bolt some plywood or sheetmetal to the underside before I lose control and run over a gaggle of pregnant nuns then.
