That's a lot of rust holes ... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) That's not a "daily driver". That is an accident waiting to happen. Time to start taking the bus, if you don't have any other car. --DD |

C'mon, he drives this thing daily and works for AA. He has demonstrated expert decision making abilities. Give him a break (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
Next time you put the seat belt on, you may want to connect it THEN sit on it so it can rescue you from falling through. |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif) I think that Ripper deserves a break here. If my daily gig was patching and bondo-ing dead people, and an opportunity came along to work in a place that specialized in 914s, I would take it in a heartbeat. The guy that he works for may not be very popular here, but I have to say that Ripper has done a brilliant job of walking that fine line of being a great World citizen while still representing AA in a way that George never could. All of that being said, it is pretty sad that he even needed to post this. It is the equivalent of a dental assistant posting a picture of a huge cavity and asking advice from strangers on how to get it fixed. |

You got me, I took this job to have a fun break from the embalming business for a while. I don't mind driving a rusty car, I've never owned a car newer than a 1978 model (a scirocco). The 914 is rusty and falling apart but it's reliable.
I was hoping they'd come up with an easy fix, and when I brought it up they did. |

In business you can't please everyone. They must be doing something right to continue. I'm pretty certain "I'll be talking to George then". For the convenience. |

I would totally agree here. I do think AA should have spent a bit more time patching that up with more metal. A few pieces across the back would have take about one hour to get done.... Take care of your employees. |

sounds like my old blazer only difference it had a frame under it to stop the seat from falling to the ground (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) when i got my 914 it had two pipes welded from the front crossmember to the engine crossmember. they aparantly thought that would keep it from folding in half. it did a little i suppose. would have been better if they kept going to the back tranny mounts. but it also had sheet metal tacked in to hold up the floor boards. man it was a disaster.
