Long story short I got a call about a pair of 914s (70 blue & 72 yellow) that have been locked up in a out building since 1982. They haven't seen the light of day until a month ago. The price was right and yes I bought them. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/screwy.gif)

The owner bought the 72 new and in 73 joined the Air Force and was stationed in England. He had the car shipped over and spent 73-77 there. While there it had a fender bender in the right rear that was repaired badly. Once back home he drove it until the plates expired in 82 and parked it in the out building along with a 70 that he bought in 81 to be a parts car for his 72.

The 70 is folding in half and it is a parts car. The 72 has the usual hell hole & pass long issues that I have seen so far and I expect it to get worse when I really start to dig into it.

I like finding these (and other old car) cars that have been hidden away for years. Some I was able to bring back to life and some become parts cars.

I know (IMG:style_emoticons/default/thisthreadisworthlesswithoutpics.gif) so here you go. Frist pic is after I spent an hour with the owner clearing out the front area of the building to get to the cars. The rest of the pics you can figure out for your self.

Yep, that was a nice bonus. The bumpers are good, but I need to pull them and really give them a good once over.

I need the trim from the sail panels, if they're good .I know this isn't a parts posting, but every time I see a nice set for sale, someone else has already bought them.

No,

You need to learn how to restore the ones you have, and PAINT them with the cool new chrome paint process......just cause you love painting.

Then teach all of us (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I was just on Jay Leno's site watching a video about a chrome process. These aren't chrome!

Couldn't you just have told me they were bent

Nice find. Good parts for sure. Stock radios are fairly popular lately for some reason. Looks like a nice one in the blue car.

Bet it smells pretty good inside that yellow car.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/w00t.gif) At least it's not summer!

The both smell, ummmm, barn fresh (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon8.gif) I have cleaned out the yellow one since I took the pics. Smells better, but not great. I found this guy in the Blue one today while cleaning out all the mice nests in the front trunk and around the gas tank. I think I will call him Slim. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Garold and I spoke the other day. He mentioned he was getting two cars but the clips were too rusty.

Want that radio in the 70 though. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)

Yep Rick "called it". No one can have the radio unless he "un-calls" it. Guy code. He's probably driving down there right now to get it.

Garold you want me to do it again? ...hey those luggage racks are popular these days for some reason...looks like a nice one on that blue car... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/av-943.gif) .
